This badge was never worn by regular, or special King County Sheriff's deputies. These "Juice Badges" were given to prominent members of the community by the Sheriff and likely used to curry political favors with the recipients. These badges were issued in the 1950's & 60's. The practice of giving police badges to citizens ended by 1970.
